Chronograph is a monumental complication and there are only a couple of additions that would deservedly accompany its complexity while elevating its attraction even more. Throughout the history there happened to be many combinations, but none struck as its coupledom with another grand complication: Perpetual Calendar - the Datograph Perpetual is A. Lange & Söhne’s iteration of the iconic coupledom.

Iconic, indeed. Datograph Perpetual 410.025 in platinum is the first piece to breath life into this legendary collection. Built on the familiar template of the Datograph, the reference 410.025 brings the silver dial with platinum for the first time to the series. The added day / night and leap-year indication as well as the Moonphase below do not take anything from the much venerable symmetry of the dial, but further enhances it. The reference 410.025 stayed in production for 4 years, and was mainly produced with English sub-dials. The example here is one of the rarest editions with French dial.

The beating heart of the reference 410.025 is caliber l952.1. It is essentially a wonderful caliber L951.1 as the base, with the perpetual calendar module on top – which shares it with the Langematik Perpetual. A corrector pusher at 10 o’clock advances all indications one step, saving the collector from a great deal of trouble!

Datograph Perpetual measures at 41 x 13.5 mm, feels a bit chunky and hefty in platinum, but equally delightful with its presernce. With its rarity, character and exceptional craft, the reference 410.025 is a very strong candidate for every collection
