There is not a greater joy than gazing at an exotic A. Lange & Söhne watch made for a retailer in the ‘90s and 2000s. The independent, bold and thoughtful spirit given to these gems—often to form relationships with retailer partners—resulted in some of the finest, most exciting and adventurous pieces of the modern A. Lange & Söhne era. Turn your head from the 1815 to the Lange 1 to the Richard Lange, and you often find hidden gems here and there, often not even widely known. None of them hit quite like a Lange 1, though… And one example why is here: Lange 1 “Sincere” Edition.

Lange 1 itself, in its most classic form of pink gold and silver dial, is one of the most exciting classic watch designs one can enjoy. It is as groundbreaking today in 2026 as it was in 1994. When such an “outrageous” dial is applied to an already generous canvas, the result is often extraordinary. The first of such a spectacle was the Lange 1A with a yellow gold guilloché dial, matching champagné date discs. Lange 1 “Sincere” Edition is built on the same palette, but with a heavier spice, per se. The platinum case brings a tremendous heft to an already substantial Lange 1. The sub-dials are adorned with a flowering guilloché pattern, whereas the rest of the dial is pinstriped. One cannot have enough of the three-dimensionality on this gem—light emphasizes a different detail with every tilt.

Lange 1 “Sincere” Edition takes things further with glossy silver date-discs, a one-of-a-kind application for the brand. The flat date discs are an oasis among the guilloché, and they catch light like the white gold they are, just like the metallic sub-dial chapter rings.

The movement is a classic caliber L901.0, with all the hallmarks present. The case measures 38.5 × 10 mm, with the additional 0.2 mm compensating for the thickness of the white gold dial.

The reference 112.049 is limited to 100 pieces, and is one of the few Sincere Fine Watches editions Lange has made with the retailer. One of the finest, most adventurous pieces the brand ever delivered on the Lange 1 canvas. Recently sold at Langepedia.com.
